Soundwalks are an immersive audio experience - like virtual reality, for your ears.  You walk and hear all the hidden histories and stories about the landscape around you. Those things you can't see, can't even imagine. Here are some I've produced.

Alaskan Climate Change Walks

Immersive audio walks allowed Anchorage residents to walk a mile "in the shoes" of residents of the rural Alaskan villages on the front lines of climate change.  These walks were part of the multi-platform climate reporting project, "Frontier of Change" - a nine month embedded journalism project funded by AIR's national initiative, "Localore: Finding America".

Blind Date Soundwalk

This walk is meant to be experienced along a specific route through Park Slope.  Please download the audio to your smart phone or listening device or download the Soundcloud app, and find your way to Cafe Regular, 158 Berkeley Pl, New York, NY 11217. Start the walk when you arrive. Follow the audio instructions and consult the map if you get off track. Allow about 35 minutes for the walk.  Bring a rose.

Alaska Soundwalk

An immersive soundwalk at the Liminal Projects pop-up gallery in transports you from Williamsburg, Brooklyn to rural Alaska.  Go ice-fishing on the Kuskokwim river, ride a snow machine at 40 mph, cook moose stew, and hear about the Harry Man.

Winters Past: Bantam Lake (excerpt)

In this walk, you'll tour the ruins of a major ice-harvesting operation, hear stories from those who remember cutting ice, encounter a mechanism called "The Endless Chain" and learn what happened to the ice trade.

On Bantam Lake in Connecticut, the remains of this industry are hiding in plain sight.

Iceland Soundwalk

An immersive walk in the Iceland's snæfellsnes peninsula along the coastal Arnarstapi to Hellnar walking path.

John Cheever Soundwalk

This interactive soundwalk reimagines the classic John Cheever story, "The Five Forty-Eight" by placing the listener at the location of the story. Walk through Bryant Park, New York Public Library, Grand Central Station and ending in Ossining, New York - all the while being stalked by a mysterious woman.
